Tuesday Tip O' the Day

Hey, it's still technically Tuesday - get off my back! LOL. Just kidding. I've been working (off and on) all day on a book for one of my nieces, so I will incorporate my tip o' the day with this...

Don't be intimidated to try doing something you've never done before. This was a panel I bought at Wal-Mart a while back. Until I did the Ark the other day, I'd never sewn anything like that. This was pretty straightforward, but I did learn a few things in the process (like how to use piping). Here's the finished project:
Front Cover

Inside cover & 1st page

Pages 2 & 3

Pages 4 & 5

Pages 6 & 7

Page 8 & Rear inside cover

I think it turned out pretty well. I saw a pattern at JoAnn's the other day that I thought about picking up (why I didn't just go ahead and get it when I could have gotten it for $1.99 is beyond me). Now that gotten a taste for how simple it is to make a book like this, I might just have to get that pattern. The next time they are on sale.

That is Beautiful! You are sew talented...pun intended...but really that is a very nicely done project.

way to go Julie! that is so adorable and whoever gets it, probably a neice, is going to love it and treasure it. I love those kinds of gifts because not only are they given from the heart but alot of love and time goes into them.

my mom sent me one of those kits awhile back... buzz lightyear though. I looked it over, a bit uncertain... the piping?? is it easy??

seriously, those patterns are a RIP-off when they are not on sale. be patient...

I love seeing all the treasures you are making -- so many great ideas!

That is even cuter than the towels!

Just barely, but it is.
