I'm on restriction...

Apparently I am not nearly as funny as I'd like to think I am, so Ande told me that I am not allowed to post anything "funny" without consulting him first.

***********UPDATE***********

My mother in law read this post and sent me this email....

Hi Sweetie,
I tried to post to your blog but couldn't figure out how to--it must be like My Space and you can only email and post if you have your own account.

Anyway, I think you're very funny and I love the blog. Ignore Ande or tell him to get his own blog and you can also tell him his mom said so.

Love you,
Mom

Gotta love a mother in law who will stand up for you over her own son sometimes!!!

I've been tagged...

This is a new one, from my girl Michelle over at My Semblance of Sanity. I've never seen one like this before, so this should be fun. Now we'll get to see what kinds of books you all have lying close by. Here's what I have to do...

1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages.)

2. Open the book to page 123.

3. Find the fifth sentence.

4. Post the next three sentences.

5. Link back to the person who tagged you.

6. Tag five people.

Sounds easy enough...let's see what we've got...

A Party in the Jungle...cute, sparkly, but not 123 (or more) pages long.

Mmm....Cashew Chicken Takeout recipe..."It's What's for Dinner"

The instruction book for an infrared heater we don't even have...note to self, "Give book back to Al."

Puckey's pop-up dinosaur book. Grammy got that for her for Christmas, because she was going through her "I'm not a "_______", I'm a dinosaur!" phase. Cute book, but alas, also not 123 pages long. Shoot, I'm beginning to wonder if we even have any grown up books in this house...

Ah-HA! Here's a book! It's "A Light in the Window" by Jan Karon. Ande's aunt loaned me the first three books in this series (about Mitford) and I really liked them.

Okay, so page 123, 6th, 7th, & 8th sentences...

"So I got 'er this book so she can git t' know 'em and like 'em."

"Good thinking, pal."

They drew closer to the brightness of the fire.

Wow, it looks funny reading those sentences out of context. No one would ever even have a CLUE about what this book is about by reading that. How funny.

So, now I have to tag 5 people. This could be a challenge, since I may have already used up my "taggable friends" with the last time I got tagged...

Here's my list:

Amanda (You knew it was coming, right?!?! LOL)

Devin (Because my baby could beat up your baby...ha ha ha)

Jenny (Because you seem to be a good sport)

Susie (Because you have an interesting life)

Shelly (Because you have a great sense of humor)

So, I hope you all respond, because it's fun to see what other people are (or aren't) reading....

Mmm...cupcakes

In the interest of keeping the mess to a minimum, I made cupcakes for The Jib and Ande for their birthday. I started doing the cupcake thing when Puckey turned one, and it just seemed to work really well. I was even able to recruit Nans & Bug to frost the cupcakes for me (good job, girls, they looked GREAT!)

Ande and The Jib enjoyed their cupcakes, as you can see...

So, I took The Jib to the doctor today for her 1 year check-up. She is now 31 inches long and weighs 24lbs, 11oz. She's a monster! It's not going to be too long before she's giving hand-me-downs to Puckey instead of the other way around!!

Okay, just a short post tonight. It's late, I'm tired, and I still have some dishes I need to get done before I crash for the night!
