Thank you

As you know, last week I went to visit a friend whose daughter passed away. I was feeling nervous because I haven't seen this friend in several years, and seeing someone on the occasion of his child's death isn't exactly the kind of reunion anyone looks forward to.

I was able to spend just over an hour at the funeral home visiting with my friend, his wife, and got the opportunity to talk to a woman who also works for the same company I used to work for. Although the circumstances were so sad, I am really glad I went.

Thank you all for your prayers for my friend, his family, and friends. Todd and Michelle both seemed to be doing as well as could be expected, but I'm sure would appreciate your continued prayers as they begin the healing process.

I don't know if there is a worse pain then to hold your dying child and say goodbye. In moments that are so devastating it's good to just know that others care and are there for them. It's less about the words that are said and more about the mere presence and emotional support of family and friends. I'm sure the family was thankful to have you there and are blessed by your prayers and the prayers of others. I know that I may not have expressed my gratitude for having you and Ande come to visit us when Ben and I were hurting, but I am so thankful that you both were there, and I know that it meant even more to Ben.
