Daddy's flying in a shark to California

For whatever reason, whenever Puckey sees a plane in the sky (or a picture of a plane), she calls it a shark. Now, she knows what a real shark looks like, and calls them sharks as well. Maybe it's the wings on the plane?!?
Yeah, I guess I can see it....

So this morning, I had to wake her and The Jib up so we could take Daddy to the airport, because he has to fly to California for the NAMM show. She got all excited when I told her Daddy was going to fly in a shark today. As a matter of fact, as I type this, he and his friend Ron are probably sitting on the plane waiting to take off. When we got home from dropping Daddy off at the airport, there just happened to be a plane flying over our house - I told Puckey, "Look, there's a shark like Daddy is going to fly to California in!" She got a big grin and said, "Do you see it, Mamma? Do you see it?"

Before Ande went into the airport, I reminded him to bring me back some cool SWAG (stuff we all get) from the NAMM show. We'll see how he does!! He also took our camera, so maybe he'll get to take some pictures of famous people?!? (That's part of the reason why the NAMM show isn't open to the public....because they want musicians to be able to go there without being hassled by fans) I'm just praying that he will be able to drum up some interest in his amps, maybe even come home with some orders!! That would be awesome! I'll keep you updated on that.

It's going to be a strange week here without Daddy, but hopefully we'll do alright. I think the girls will miss him a lot, though. Especially Puckey. She's pretty much a Daddy's Girl.

If you haven't yet, please go to Confessions of a CF Husband and read about the amazing work God is doing through this family. I believe that God can use any circumstance to help us grow, learn, and move closer to Him as long as we let Him into our hearts to do so! Prayers for this family are going continually, and I know for myself at least, I have felt led to pray more often and more openly because of the faithfulness Nate has even through all of the trials he is facing right now. Who am I to complain because money's tight or the kids are grouchy, or I didn't get as much sleep last night as I would have liked? For what God has provided for me and my family, I should be on my knees praying and worshipping continually! Fortunately God doesn't require us to pray only if we're on our knees, or only at church, or only if we are dressed a certain way...we can pray anytime, anywhere! Not to say that we shouldn't take time daily to be quiet and pray and be alone with the Lord, because that is important too. But if you're in the grocery store and someone comes to mind - pray for them! You don't have to go through the Old Testament and use a bunch of "thees" and '"thous", you can just pray. How cool is that?

Anyhoo...visit Nate's blog at the link above (it's also listed in my favorite blog list), and remember his family in prayer. If you're on Facebook, I know that there is a page dedicated to the Lawrenson family there as well. Click this link to get there.

I love the shark and plane comparison, I never thought it before, but it sure looks obvious.

We'll be praying for you all while Daddy is away and also for the potential for Ande at the show.

thanks for the words on prayer. it is life-changing to fill your days in prayer...

You've added quite a few blogs to that list of yours =) I'll have to check some of them out later...right now playgroup is calling

Note: weird that our kids are pretty much the same age and we have the same name. Must be one of those "coincidences" Dirkin talks about on his blog "get stoned and read this" (which has nothing to do with getting stoned btw)

I, too, am praying for your sanity in the days to come and for Ande's adventure in CA. Thanks for sharing Nate's story with us. I've shed a few tears and said a few prayers for him and his family over the past couple of days. He is an amazing man who serves our GREAT GOD. What a testimony. I don't know if you've ever thought about it before, but if God were to write a new new testament of people and stories of souls won and hearts turned to Christ, who would be in it and what would it say? I would have to vote for Nate. His total yielding of self and heart, his devotion to God and family. His desire to reach out to the lost when his life is in such upheaval. What a warrior for Christ.
Anyway, I'll quit rambling...Have a blessed day. Love ya sis, Destini

Thanks for visiting my blog, Julie. And thanks so much for the beautiful things you said about Nate on your blog. I know he appreciates it so much when others pass on the need to pray for Tricia and Gwyneth. I did check out your Christmas pic....very cute! Your kids are beautiful. Gotta love how the toddlers make it near impossible to get a pic of all five LOOKING at the camera :)

Thanks, Janet - I can't help but to say good things about Nate...his words have touched many hearts and lives!

The Christmas pic was approximately the 900th attempt at a decent picture - I could never get all of them looking AND smiling at the same time, so I finally just gave up and called it good.
